There are many types of blood pressure monitors, here is a
guide to help you decide which one might be best for you.
Digital
Wrist Monitor – The blood pressure cuff is placed on the wrist, it
automatically inflates, providing readings on the LED display.
Manual
Inflation Monitor – The blood pressure cuff is placed on the bicep
directly above the elbow. These monitors require self pumping of the bulb and
provide readings on the LED display.
Automatic
Inflation Monitor – The blood pressure cuff is placed on the bicep
directly above the elbow. These monitors inflate with the touch of a button and
provide readings on an LED display. Available in basic models to advanced,
depending on how many readings you need to take and record, along with other
information such as heart rate.
Professional
Manual Monitor – Inflation require pumping of the bulb and readings are
shown on a manometer. Available as just the blood pressure unit or as a kit
which would include a stethoscope.
Cuffs come in different sizes to fit various size people.
Larger cuffs are available for purchase separately.
