The crutches can be used for walking with different gates, as well as for using one leg only.
There is no discomfort in the arms, wrist or hands while using them.
The grip is sturdy and ergonomically correct.
There are different options for heigh for the crutches and for the wrist support.
The wrist support stays on your arm when you let go of the grip, which allows you for doing certain tasks without putting the crutches away.
They are easy to use while walking up and down stairs.
It is also easy to use one crutch with one hand, while carrying the other crutch with the same hand.
Happy with Nova forearm crutches
From Anonymous of Croton on Hudson, New York on .
Having used forearm crutches for over 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised with the Nova 7740P units I received. The ergonomic hand grips were much better than either my 20-year old units, or a new pair I bought (prior to the Novas) from Medline. The cuffs on the Novas are also better sized (at ~3.5" diameter) than those found on others' new units, all of which were too large (~4.5").The cuff's front opening on the Nova is ~1.875", which avoids them falling off of your arm. The Medlines were close to 3", which is ridiculous. The hand grip on the Novas is 5.5" long, vs others at ~4.5" or less, which force one's wrist up against the crutch shaft. The Novas leave a space of at least 1" between wrist and shaft. I gave the new Medlines to Goodwill; they were just too uncomfortable and loose for me to use. I'm very happy with the Novas. They cost more but are easily worth it.
